BLENHEIM

Mayor Alistair Sowman and Phil Hunnisett were part of the enthusiastic crowd who, undeterred by a frosty morning, turned out with their spades to plant more than a thousand shrubs and 14 native trees in Blenheim’s newest greenspace; Sheps Park in Springlands.

Marlborough’s Arborbank kicked started the park’s development with a donation of $5000 to get the planting underway. The Council will be developing Sheps park in several stages. So many people arrived to help last weekend that all the planting was completed within 40 minutes.
