Paper Plus stores nationwide will be restocked this week with the much anticipated erotic fiction trilogy, Fifty Shades of Grey, after the racy novel flew off the shelves since it was first introduced to intrigued Kiwi readers.

Responding to the overwhelming consumer demand, Fifty Shades of Grey will once again be available in all stores from Wednesday 27th June along with the trilogy boxed set, satisfying thousands of readers nationwide.

Paper Plus’ Group Marketing Manager, Lyle Hastings says that the obsession around the trilogy has not gone unnoticed and he says that they are greatly committed to getting as many books out to those readers who are desperate to get their hands on a copy.

“The popularity of the books has absolutely astounded us to date and we have seen thousands of copies of the X-rated read walk out the door, which was completely unexpected. We are committed to providing our customers with the highly desirable books and will continue to restock the shelves, responding to our customers demand.”

“I’m pleased to say that all Paper Plus stores will be restocked this week, so readers of the colourful trilogy can head into their local store to pick up the full series.”

Sales of the trilogy have been nothing short of phenomenal and New Zealand readers have reflected the trends and popularity abroad, which has seen Fifty Shades of Grey rocket to the top of best-seller lists in the US and the UK, with the series selling around ten million copies worldwide and surpassing J.K. Rowling and Dan Brown to the UK record.

The erotic trilogy of books - dubbed “mummy porn” – by British author E. L. James, follows the relationship between a young Anastasia Steele and her billionaire beau Christian Grey, where readers are treated to an explicit insight into the sexual intensity and dangers of the relationship plagued by his fantasies of submission and dominance.

In July, Paper Plus Richmond will be hosting a special Fifty Shades of Grey evening and invite ladies of all ages to a naughty but nice event on Wednesday 25th July. Guests will be treated to a night of education and much laughter. Extracts from the novel will be read, with a professional dominatrix on hand to give tips and tricks on the business, and of course, this will all be washed down with a glass of bubbles and some tasty nibbles. Tickets are $25 and can be purchased at Paper Plus Richmond.
