Local books and stationery store, Paper Pus Coastlands, has taken out the award for best book sales at the annual Paper Plus Group Awards, proving that their valued customers still enjoy curling up with a good read.

The announcement was made at an exclusive gala dinner held at The Pullman Hotel in Auckland last night, where more than 400 store owners, suppliers and publishers celebrated the store’s success.

Paper Plus Coastlands beat out more than 100 stores nationwide to claim the prestigious title.

The successful store’s owners, Rob and Kaye Clarke, were thrilled to be announced as the big winner and tributes their success to years of hard work and a continual commitment to driving book sales.

“We have been blessed with an extremely passionate team who love their books, as well as fantastic management as part of the Paper Plus Group franchise system. However, at the end of the day it is our valued customers, who are still enjoying a good book, who we must thank,” says Rob.

“We really do try and go the extra mile for our customers on a daily basis. We embrace national book initiatives such as New Zealand Book Month and keep fully up-to-date with new book trends and customer demands, such as the overwhelming success of Fifty Shades of Grey, which has flown off shelves.”

As well as taking out the top spot for national book sales, Rob and Kaye Clarke also take great pride in giving back to the community in which they operate, an element they say is integral to their in-store success and customer loyalty.

“Our customers have given us so much over the years, so we feel a great responsibility to play our part and contribute to the Coastlands community wherever we can,” says Rob.

Paper Plus Group Chief Executive, Rob Smith, says “A huge congratulations must go to Rob and Kaye from Paper Plus Coastlands. Their relentless efforts to drive customers in store have helped cement their achievement of topping the country’s book sales, and this commitment and dedication has not gone unnoticed.”
