Trimming hedges and shrubs, cutting topiary and box-hedging are all jobs you can fear no longer thanks to the new, lighter than ever HS 46 C-E and HS 56 C-E hedge trimmers from STIHL.

The HS 46 C-E hedge trimmer is the lightest petrol model in the STIHL range, weighing in at an insubstanital 4.3kg. But don’t understimate this powerful tool with its 22cc engine giving it plenty of grunt.

Adding an extra 5cm to its cutting blade length, the HS 56 C-E is the second new petrol model to arrive this year at only 4.5kg. The STIHL HS 56 C-E model is ideal for larger-scale jobs and lifestyle blocks.

Comfort is at the forefront of both the HS 46 C-E and HS 56 C-E designs. A single lever is located comfortably by the thumb allowing for ‘no fiddle' setting of all engine controls. Combined with a straightforward 3-step starting system and the gentle pull-start of the STIHL ErgoStart engine, the new models are proving their worth even before they’ve started on the job.

Once running they are equally enjoyable to use thanks to an anti-vibration system for smooth control. Their double-sided, laser-cut blades will also ensure an unbeatable cutting performance and comfort.

For the environmentally-aware, the eco-efficient engine in both models means emissions are radically reduced. The STIHL 2-MIX engine not only cuts emissions by up to 70% compared to a standard 2-stroke engine, it also cuts fuel consumption by up to 20% – making the new models kinder on the pocket as well as on the environment.
