Turangi/Tongariro community grants open

The Turangi/Tongariro Community Board is inviting applications for funding it has to distribute through its 2012/13 funding round.

Grants are for groups and organisations that provide a service on behalf of Council or for one-off events, projects or capital projects.

Applicants must demonstrate the benefit to Turangi/Tongariro residents and show how their project supports the directions outlined in the Long Term Council Community Plan.

Recipients will be those who are contributing to the social, economic, cultural and environmental wellbeing of the community. The 2012/13 budget for grants is $80,000.

In past years, recipients have included sports, church, and art groups, and funding has contributed toward festivals, website development, marketing costs and signage for various projects.

Application forms are available at the Turangi Service Delivery Centre or online  here. Applications close at 4.00pm on Thursday 20 September 2012.
