It’s not enough to simply buy a bicycle helmet – it should be properly fitted, adjusted, and worn each time you ride.

Your helmet is a crucial part of your bike-wear. Don’t start pedalling until it is fastened securely. If it fits properly, it will feel comfortable, and easy to wear.

Quick tips:

  • Use the rear adjuster and straps so the helmet fits snugly down on your forehead, resting securely just above your eyebrows. Remember, the helmet must cover your forehead.
  • The chin strap must be tight and properly adjusted. It should be a snug fit - no more than one or two fingers should fit under the strap.
  • The helmet should not rock forward or backward on your head.
