Temporary Change to Rabbit Island Cycle Trail

For the next few weeks there will be a minor diversion on the Rabbit Island section of Tasman’s Great Taste Trail.

While the island will still be open for biking and other activities an interim bike trail will be signposted to allow work within a section of the forestry plantation on the island. Full and free access to and from the Flat Bottom ferry connecting the island to Mapua will be maintained.

Riders are advised to follow the marked trails, especially those visiting Rabbit Island during the week, as heavy machinery will be in use during this period.
