Rates Error Rectified

Ratepayers in Tasman have recently received their first rates bill for the year. As was reported in the Nelson Mail last week a small number of these bills contained an error relating to a stormwater charge.

All those ratepayers who had the charge mistakenly added to their bill have been identified and contacted and a new rates invoice has been issued. With the correct amount stated.

As a result of the issue all rates invoices for the period were screened to ensure they were not affected in the same or similar way. No other issues were identified.

If ratepayers have not been contacted their invoice is correct. The Council apologises for the error.
