Download the scavenger hunt from DOC's conservation week website and get out and explore! Answer as many questions as you can before 15 September. The more correct answers you submit, the more entries you will get in the prize draw. No cost.

Rarangi Restoration Day - 6 September 10.00 am.Meet at the Rarangi Community Centre, Beach Rd.

Did you know there are tiny native moths in Rarangi that don’t exist anywhere else in the world? Join our restoration day on the beachfront at Rarangi and learn more about the threatened plants and animals that make Rarangi unique. We will be planting and weeding the Landcare restoration plots to help bring back native coastal vegetation and provide habitat for Rarangi’s special insects. No cost. Gloves recommended.

Marlborough Holiday Expo 2012 at Marlborough Convention Centre – 10.00 am-3.00 pm Sunday 9 September

Visit DOC’s stand at the Marlborough Holiday Expo to find out about the conservation spaces in our region.

Open Tramp – 8.00 am to 4:30 pm Wednesday 12 September

Marlborough Tramping Club hosts an open tramp going up to the old gold mining area near Prospectors Terrace. Cost $10. Registration necessary – Ph: Claire Hokianga 03 573 7272.

Pelorus Bridge guided walk – 10.00 am Saturday 15 September

Forest and Bird volunteers will be hosting guided walks at Pelorus Bridge where they run a trapping programme to protect the long tailed bat. No cost. Registration necessary – Ph: Siobain Browning at DOC, 03 520 3002, or email conservationweekmarl@doc.govt.nz

“Love your Parks” – Guest Speaker William Pike - 2.00 pm Sunday 16 September at the Marlborough Convention Centre

Hear William tell his amazing tale of survival and how he uses his passion and love for the outdoors to motivate and inspire you to get out and “love your parks”. Cost gold coin donation. Event sponsored by Marlborough Convention Centre, Marlborough Tramping Club and DOC.

Welcome Home to the Hutton's Shearwaters 2012 – Saturday 22 September in Kaikoura
