Marlborough Environment Awards 2012/2013
The Marlborough Environment Awards have been supported by Marlborough District Council since 1997 to encourage businesses, community groups and individuals to protect and enhance the environment.
The 2012/2013 Awards will be officially launched at Wither Hills winery tomorrow and the next step is to encourage entries, says awards co-ordinator Bev Doole.
“We know there are businesses and projects doing good things out there and the awards are a chance to showcase that work and share experiences,” she says.
There are six award categories:
- Winegrowing/horticulture
- Farming
- Forestry
- Landscape and Habitat Enhancement
- Business Innovation
- Community Innovation/Sustainable Living
The Community Innovation category is new this year and has been set up to recognise projects by non-profit groups or households that use resources and energy efficiently. The winner of each category receives $1000 and is in the running for the Supreme Award of another $2000.
Entry forms are online on our Marlborough Environment Awards page and entries close on October 26, 2012.
