Council grants available for projects and events

Residents, groups and organisations in Mangakino/Pouakani have a chance at getting a financial boost for projects and events from Taupō District Council  through Council community grants, which are now open for applications.

The grants are available to organisations that provide a service on behalf of Council for one-off events, projects or capital projects within Mangakino/Pouakani. This is the first of two funding rounds, and there is $15,000 available for distribution.

For a chance to secure a grant, groups need to demonstrate to Council the benefits of their project to the Mangakino/Pouakani community, as well as showing how the project supports the directions in the Long Term Plan.

This year, the Mangakino/Pouakani Representative Group (MPRG) was allocated $30,000 for community grants. The MPRG decided to split the money into two funding rounds. There will be another funding round opening in February 2013.

Applications for this round close 5 October at 4.00pm.
