From October 2012 through to February 2013 the Marlborough District Council’s biosecurity staff and their contractor Kaitiaki o Ngahere will be undertaking the control of Reed sweet grass (Glyceria maxima). Over the same period, Marlborough District Council biosecurity officers will also be undertaking the control of Parrot’s feather (Myriophyllum aquaticum).

Control areas will include: Gibson’s Creek and Opawa River, from Hammond Road downstream to Hammerichs Road; Taylor River, downstream of butter factory corner; Lower Wairau, Grovetown Lagoon, Roberts, and Marukoko drains; and the Lower Awatere, Boundary creek from Ugbrooke Road downstream to the coast.
