Taupō artist, Melissa Wallace, is bringing a unique new exhibition to Taupō Museum.  Melissa invites you along to the opening for her exhibition on Friday 5 October at 5.30pm. As the title of her exhibition suggests, Cool Shapes will be notable for the shapes of the artworks on display.

Melissa works with acrylics and oil on canvas and, from time to time, uses a resin on her pieces to produce a high gloss look. She has exhibited at the New Zealand Art Show for three years and her work hangs in private collections all over the globe including New York, Canada, Singapore, Australia and Ireland.

Melissa has had a love of art and a passion to create for as long as she can remember. Art is an integral part of Melissa’s life and she strives to channel her passion for art through her paintings. She draws her inspiration from Taupō’s natural beauty, whether it is the landscape, bird life or flora. Melissa loves to see the joy others get from art and strongly believes it plays a vital, positive role in today’s society.

Cool Shapes will be on display in the Niven Room at Taupō Museum 6 – 30 October. Taupō Museum is open daily from 10.00am until 4:30pm.
