It is a positive step for Lyttelton and the whole harbour to see the return of this great fun, family friendly event.

The festival runs over two weekends: November 3rd, 4th and 10th, 11th

With so many of the area’s most well-known walking tracks still closed this festival offers up some hidden gems and quirky, creative rambles. From discovering back yard chickens and meeting local penguins to cliff top ecology, visiting artists’ studios and meeting remarkable trees there really is something for everyone.
A couple of the highlights include:

Living Springs, Bamfords Road, Allandale. Discover the beautiful land and views at Living Springs with daily walks throughout the festival at 9.30am and 1pm. Meet at the camp car park for a brief overview of the area and then take a self-guided walk (with provided map) accompanied by the bell birds and kereru. Free.

I-Spy Lyttelton with the CPIT events students. Lyttelton’s very own interactive treasure hunt, get together with family and friends and complete fun activities and solve clues as you journey around interesting and unusual Lyttelton locations.

More details about these and all the other fabulous walks on offer can be found by visiting www.lyttelton.net.nz or finding us on Facebook: Lyttelton Harbour Festival of Walking and look out for the flyer and posters which will be out soon…
