The NZ Transport Agency is reminding drivers that from this Sunday (14 October), there will be delays on a section of State Highway 12 in Northland due to maintenance work at Hardies Bridge between Ruawai and Paparoa.

Hardies Bridge is one-lane, and its surface is being re-sealed as part of the NZTA’s highway maintenance programme.

Contractors will be working between 8am and 4pm, and the NZTA’s acting State Highways Manager for Auckland and Northland , Steve Mutton, says drivers will need to plan their travel  because there are no local detour routes available.

“During some phases of work, drivers could face delays of at least 30 minutes because of the time needed to move workers and equipment off the bridge,” says Mr Mutton.

The work will take several days, and fine weather will be needed to complete the re-seal on time.
