JAQUIE BROWN’S COMING TO TOWN FOR KENNEDY PARK’S 75TH BIRTHDAY BASH

‘Party in the Park’ will be a whole lot of laughs now that comedian Jaquie Brown has been confirmed as the event’s celebrity guest.

Kennedy Park TOP 10 Holiday Resort’s ‘Party in the Park’ takes place on Sunday 28 October and everyone is invited to help celebrate 75 years of good times at the Storkey Street holiday haven in Napier.

The event will also support the park’s preferred charity, Breast Cancer Research Trust, and Ms Brown is one of the trust’s ambassadors.

“It is such coup for us to have Jaquie Brown with us as we know her presence will really add to the party atmosphere,” says Kennedy Park TOP 10 Resort manager David Aflallo.

Ms Brown is also excited about her visit to Hawke’s Bay and the chance to be part of the celebrations to mark the 75th birthday of the well-loved holiday park.

“Family is such an important thing and to have a holiday park that generations have enjoyed and where stories and memories have been created, well, it’s a beautiful thing,” says Ms Brown.

“It’s wonderful to be visiting on behalf of the Breast Cancer Research Trust. To know that we’re raising funds to find a cure together all over New Zealand makes the crusade just that bit sweeter.”

Renowned for her television series The Jaquie Brown Diaries, Ms Brown is a hit with critics and viewers alike and has won awards for her work in comedy.

In her current television series, Keep Calm and Carry On, Ms Brown shares her emotional journey of coming to grips with the lumps and speed bumps of being a new mum. The programme is a weekly highlight for many busy parents who will get a chance to relax at the family-friendly event.

Other highlights at the ‘Party in the Park’ include a basketball shoot-off hosted by Hawks basketball players, games including egg and spoon races, three legged races and tug-of-war, all being run by Sport Hawke’s Bay. There will also be cupcake decorating and Par2 MiniGolf will have a hole-in-one contest at the event.

Mr Aflallo wants the Hawke’s Bay community to join the Kennedy Park TOP 10 Resort team for a real birthday bash including live music by local band Naked Gun and “good old fashioned fun” for everyone.

“Bring your friends and families along and help us celebrate. We can’t wait to see as many people as possible enjoying the festivities and having a laugh with Jaquie.”
