The new Dog Control Bylaw is now in effect – What does this mean for you?

Some of the important changes that may affect you are the areas where you can take your dog.

See lists of the areas in Marlborough where:

Dogs can be exercised off lead

Dogs can be exercised but must on a lead at all times

Areas where dogs are prohibited – this now includes the Blenheim CBD

There are also other important changes you need to be aware of – listed below are a few of these:

  • Dogs are allowed On-Leash in the Picton CBD
  • Amendments to other areas in Picton – view all parks and reserves in the Bylaw
  • Amendments to the Multiple Dog Property Licence – view Clause 406 in the Bylaw for more information
  • All of the Taylor Dam area is an On-Leash area including the forest area south of the locked gates
  • Dogs are prohibited within 3 metres of any children’s playground
  • Dogs are prohibited from all sports grounds – special concessions do apply to some sports grounds – view all parks and reserves in the Bylaw
  • Dogs are prohibited from the Wither Hills
  • Dogs are prohibited from the Japanese Gardens at Harling Park
