The Peter Yealands Pinot Noir 2011 has been awarded a gold medal at the Marlborough Wine Show. The wine was one of only 39 to receive Gold at the annual show, which was created to demonstrate the diverse range of wines produced in the Marlborough region.

The last two vintages have been stellar for Yealands Estate. The 2012 Peter Yealands Sauvignon Blanc has collected a gold medal tally of four, in addition to a trophy at the Romeo Bragato Wine Awards. On top of this, the Yealands Estate Single Block S1 Sauvignon Blanc 2011 was awarded a trio of trophies at the International Wine Awards.

“We’re thrilled that our wines continue to bring home medals. Gold for the Peter Yealands Pinot Noir is particularly exciting because it demonstrates that our vineyard can produce a variety of exceptional wines. Our Sauvignon Blanc and Pinot Gris have now received multiple golds, which is a significant endorsement of the hard work of our vineyard and winery team,” says Yealands Estate Owner and Founder, Peter Yealands.

The gold medal is the second accolade for Yealands Pinot Noir in as many weeks, with the Yealands Reserve Central Otago Pinot Noir 2011, awarded five stars and a top 10 placing in the prestigious Cuisine Pinot Noir tasting.

All gold medal winning wines will be eligible for selection for trophies. The Marlborough Wine Show trophies will be announced at a dinner to celebrate the Marlborough wine industry on 10 November.
