Some of New Zealand’s most intimate, luxurious and unique lodges are heralding spring and the summer to come with the addition of a new lodge member and premium packages.

Hapuku Lodge and Tree Houses, nestled between  breathtaking snow–capped Kaikoura mountains and the rugged Pacific Coast in the South Island, has joined Luxury Lodges of New Zealand, a group of 28 carefully selected members that have to meet strict entry criteria and offer distinguishing features to ensure they stand out in the exclusive five-star market.

Hapuku offers four beautiful lodge suites and five stunning tree houses set 30 feet above a native 100-year old Kanuka and Manuka tree grove, and feature the delectable cuisine of New Zealand Masterchef finalist Fiona Read, who runs the property with husband and General Manager Chris Sturgeon.

They are currently establishing a residential cooking school -- Hapuku Kitchen -- alongside the lodge business to give visitors to the region and the lodge a genuine ‘hands-on’ foraging and cooking experience.

Enticing special offers abound over spring and summer among member lodges throughout New Zealand for those looking for pampering, fine food and wine, and complimentary or discounted activities.

“As a group we’re all about providing real, unique and exclusive experiences with outstanding levels of service,” said Luxury Lodges of New Zealand chairman Murray McCaw.

“Our lodges are among some of the best in the world, and these very special offers are there to entice domestic and international visitors to experience a unique part of New Zealand tourism.”

The special ‘Summer Sunshine’ package for two at Earthsong Lodge on Great Barrier Island features some fabulous inclusions such as a $100 gift wine voucher, complimentary two-day vehicle hire, and a one-hour therapeutic massage for two, as well as accommodation in an Ocean View suite, breakfasts and evening dining.

Overlooking the ocean in the glorious Bay of Islands, The Lodge at Kauri Cliffs has a Revitalising Retreat package on offer for those keen to spend some time away with their best girlfriend, mother or daughter, or any special person in their life. A weekend of pampering, indulgence and fun, re-charging the batteries, enjoying a beautiful spa and wonderful food and wine is on offer.

The Revitalising Retreat includes one night’s accommodation for two staying in a Deluxe Suite, a 50-minute massage and an 80-minute facial per person, a decadent afternoon tea on arrival and a bottle of New Zealand Champenoise served in the lodge lounge or your suite. It also includes pre-dinner drinks and canapés, gourmet dinner, full breakfast and a complimentary mini-bar (excluding liquor and wine).

Celebrate Spring at Pen-y-bryn in Oamaru – the Victorian township is particularly beautiful at this time of year, with flowers blooming, birds chirping and blue skies overhead. To celebrate this season of rebirth, Pen-y-bryn Lodge is offering a springtime package, comprising two nights' stay at New Zealand's premier heritage lodge, dinner at the lodge on one of those nights, and discounted entry to the renowned Oamaru Blue Penguin Colony, for just $1200 per couple.

In Queenstown, Remarkables Lodge says farewell to skiing and welcomes in spring, as daffodils are showing their faces and spring lambs enjoy the sunshine. With every three-night booking in October and November, guests will receive a complimentary activity – either a wine tour, a 4WD tour, or a relaxing session at Onsen Hot Pools.

Situated on 150-acres of private forest just 50 minutes from Nelson, Stonefly Lodge offers the complete package for visitors from around the world looking to experience fly fishing in New Zealand. To celebrate the opening of the fly fishing season, a special package on offer with a three-night stay includes a free fly fishing guide for one day including transport, all fly fishing gear, and lunch. Total cost for three days is $1650 per person on a twin share basis, including a 4-course gourmet dinner and cooked breakfast each day.

“With our lodges you know you’ll always receive the warmest welcome and exceptional hospitality, and these very special offers are just another reason to enjoy a memorable holiday experience,” said Mr McCaw.
