MT MAUNGANUI

Nosh Food Market continues its expansion as it opens its seventh store tomorrow with Mt Maunganui’s The Good Food Trading Co. converting to a Noshfranchise.

The Mount store is the third outside Auckland and is part of a larger expansion programme aimed at broadening the chain’s reach across the upper North Island.

Jo and Jamie Blennerhassett have successfully operated The Good Food Trading Co. for the past two years and have now joined the Nosh chain as a wholly owned and operated franchise store.

“We’ve worked closely with Nosh for the past year on a range of campaigns and the decision to join the group was a really easy one. We found we shared the same vision around what we wanted to deliver to customers and the greater brand recognition and buying power of a combined force had to be a good thing for both us and our customers,” says Jamie.

Clinton Beuvink Nosh CEO and co-founder says he’s delighted to bring the full Nosh Food Market concept to the Bay of Plenty.

“Our vision is to source the finest local food and deliver it to consumers at competitive prices, in as many places as we can get to” says Clinton.

“Like all our Nosh teams, the people at our Mount store are qualified, passionate and experienced and share our vision for what we do,” he says.

Beuvink says the Mount store is the first franchised store to open in New Zealand and the company has plans to franchise their concept further in future with another franchised store opening in Auckland’s North Shore next month.

The Nosh Food Market in 35 MacDonald Street will continue to stock a range of local produce as well as Jo and Jamie’s popular deli style take-out meal range.

However the change to Nosh means the new store now stocks a range of global brand names such as Waitrose and also includes a Black Rock Butchery in store as well as a more extensive delicatessen range.

Black Rock Butchery produces award winning sausages, ham and the finest cuts of meat using the best free farmed New Zealand livestock. Nosh won the Ham of the Year at the 100% New Zealand Bacon & Ham Competition two weeks ago.

“Customers will continue to get all the great products and services they’ve always enjoyed at Good Food plus a whole lot more.  We’re particularly pleased to deliver our customers an expanded butchery and wider range of deli items as well as the super weekly deals that Nosh is renowned for.”

Nosh is introducing its VIP member scheme to the store and all of Jo and Jamie’s current Loyalty Card Members can easily be converted via instant in-store monitors.

The new store officially opens tomorrow (Oct. 30) with a VIP-only morning featuring special deals, food tastings and cooking demonstrations by Masterchef winner Chelsea Winter.  The store is open to the general public from midday.

Customers who spend $50 or more on opening day receive an exclusive free goody bag (while stocks last).
