Serbia biggest climbers in rankings

Serbia recorded their first win in Rugby World Cup 2015 European qualifying, with a 39-21 defeat of Latvia. The victory, part of the 2012-14 European Nations Cup Division 2B competition, sees Serbia move up five places to 69th in the latest IRB World Rankings. Latvia drop three places to 75th.

Germany began their RWC 2015 qualifying campaign with their third win in a row over Ukraine, in the process moving back into the top 30 of the IRB World Rankings for the first time since March 2011. Ukraine drop from 29th to 31st, whilst Zimbabwe, who didn’t play, move up to their highest-ever ranking of 29th, thanks to Ukraine’s defeat.

Sweden, 54-6 victors over Moldova, and Israel, who defeated Andorra 26-5 away, both move up three places, to 36th and 52nd respectively. Andorra are the weeks biggest fallers, slipping from 61st to 67th.

Brazil stay in 33rd after their win over Paraguay in the RWC Americas Round 1 qualifying play-off, but they are now within 0.2 ratings points of Morocco in 32nd. Paraguay drop one place to 38th.
