Media release, November 1, 2012, Dunedin, New Zealand:
A focus on design and innovation has paid off for New Zealand gas fire manufacturers Escea, who have been awarded a Bronze Award at New Zealand’s own Best Design Awards, and on the shortlist for the European WAN Awards for Product of the Year, 2012.
Both awards carry prestige and recognition and Escea founder Nigel Bamford is proud to see the company’s work being acknowledged on the world stage.
“We have always had a commitment to design excellence and technological excellence, and the DX1500 fire represents our best work to date,” Bamford says.
“We know there is nothing in the world quite like it, which makes it worthy of being recognised alongside other innovative products and designs.”
The Best Awards run by the Designers Institute are considered to be the cream of New Zealand design work, covering Graphic design, Interactive design, Product design and Spatial design.
Escea’s DX Smart Heat fireplace series is among great company in the consumer product group, against innovative designs from established New Zealand manufacturers including Fisher and Paykel, Methven Tapware and Avanti Bikes.
The World Architecture News (WAN) product awards draw from an international pool with a largely European focus. Products included in this year’s long list range from architectural aluminium façade panelling, through to energy and space efficient elevators, innovative solar power generation stations for electric cars and bathroom soap dispensers that look like tapware.
