Organisers of New Zealand’s iconic agribusiness exhibition, National Agricultural Fieldays, have released the prospectus for the 2013 event held 12 to 15 June at Mystery Creek Events Centre, Hamilton. To date there has been healthy interest with 72% of all agribusiness sites reserved for Fieldays 2013.

Now in its 45th year, National Fieldays annually hosts approximately 1000 exhibitors on 1400 sites within the 40 hectare exhibition and demonstration space. The annual four day event attracted in excess of 125,000 visitors in 2012, providing exhibiting businesses the ultimate connection to farming customers, both locally and internationally.

The Premier Feature and topical theme of Fieldays 2013 is ‘Getting down to business in the global economy’; which highlights New Zealand’s unique position as an innovative Agribusiness driven economy to capitalise on the growing international demand for food, protein, and agricultural expertise.

NZ National Agricultural Fieldays CEO, Jon Calder, said, “We are acknowledged as a window into one of the most innovative, forward thinking agricultural economies in the world. We are excited to be able to provide a platform at Fieldays 2013 for New Zealand agribusiness to showcase its capability and innovation; demonstrating to New Zealand and the world why we are international leaders in pastoral faming.”

So what else is new for Fieldays 2013?

The National Fieldays Society is pleased to announce many improvements and site redevelopments for the 2013 event including a new Mystery Creek Events Centre headquarters at the main entrance.

Six different areas have been renovated to improve and increase pedestrian flow while creating an additional 2000 square metres of exhibiting space.

The ever popular Kiwi’s Best has been renamed “Kiwi’s Best Kitchen”, transformed and expanded to almost double its previous size. As well as showcasing New Zealand’s finest food products it will now house a specialised beverage section for New Zealand beers, wines and spirits. The celebrity chef for 2013 is yet to be announced.

The Innovation Centre has grown and developed into a greenhouse for local innovations; fostering initiatives and creating a platform for inventors to take the next step; be it from back yard invention to market ready production, or from developed product to international export item.

This fits in with the Premier Feature global theme and the government’s initiative to increase the contribution of exports to the economy from 30 percent to 40 percent of GDP by 2025.

Newly forged relationships with organisations in India and China will create exciting opportunities for both exhibitors and Fieldays Innovations entrants and provide further opportunity to showcase products and services on a truly global stage.

The Fieldays 2013 Prospectus can be downloaded from www.fieldays.co.nz and site allocation will take place from 1 December 2012.

New Zealand National Agricultural Fieldays will be held 12-15 June 2013 at Mystery Creek Events Centre, 10 minutes south of Hamilton. The event is proudly supported by strategic partners - ANZ and the University of Waikato.
