Tender awarded for Hirangi Road sewerage system

Taupō District Council awarded the contract for the design and construction of wastewater reticulation to Hirangi Road in Turangi at the 30 October Council meeting in Turangi.

The tender was awarded to Innoflow Technologies NZ Ltd for $305,000 and will be done by a local contractor.

The wastewater reticulation will provide for 16 properties on Hirangi Road and Awamate Road in Turangi. The decision was made following submissions from residents during the 2012-22 Long Term Plan. The submissions were focused on concerns with septic tank operation in the area due to high ground water conditions.

Funding for the work has been allocated in Council’s Annual Plan within wastewater budgets.
