Embracing Diversity is an exhibition that brings together a diverse selection of work from over thirty artists from Art Connection Taupō. The multimedia exhibition features painting, glass, jewellery, wood and sculpture. It is hoped the exhibition will encourage local creative people to connect through their art.

From the professional artist to the enthusiastic hobbyist, Art Connection Taupō is Taupō's first all-inclusive group of independent artists.

Local artists and teachers Sue Graham and Sally-Ann Davies started Art Connection Taupō hoping to provide an opportunity for local artists to connect. A Facebook page and monthly gatherings have seen the group grow rapidly, astounding Sue and Sally with its success.

When a space became available in the Taupō Museum gallery, Exhibitions Officer, Kerence Stephen approached the group with the opportunity to hold the exhibition. “Not only is this a great chance for us to help promote Art Connection Taupō, it’s also a wonderful opportunity for museum visitors and locals alike to purchase artwork with a local flavour in time for Christmas.”

For the duration of the exhibition, artists will demonstrate their methods and techniques at weekends. The community is invited to come along, meet them and watch them as they create.

Taupō Museum is open daily from 10.00am until 4.30pm.
