Janet Luke, Landscape Architect and author of Green Urban Living, is the guest speaker at this year’s Publishers’ Book Expo.
The event will be held on Wednesday 21st November at the Havelock North Library where Janet Luke will talk about her family’s challenge of attempting to live off their urban backyard in Havelock North for four months.
The expo will also feature a hand-picked selection of titles from leading publishing houses Random House, Hachette Livre, and Penguin Books.
Paula Murdoch, Hastings District Libraries’ manager says “This event gives readers an opportunity to hear about great books and showcases a local author. The titles presented are carefully chosen by publishers’ representatives from a huge range of new releases and every now and then someone throws in an oldie but goodie because it just deserves to be included.”
Paula says that helping customers choose their next great read is an important library service and this event is a fun and informative way to do this.
Paula Murdoch says “We are inviting the public to come along and enjoy a glass of wine and some quality ‘reader’s advisory’ and hear about new titles from some of our leading publishers”.
Tickets to the Havelock North Library Publishers’ Expo are $5, and are on sale at the Havelock North, Hastings and Flaxmere Libraries. Doors open at 6.45pm for wine and nibbles, and the event begins at 7pm.
