Roses bloom at Frimley Park

A very special Rose Sunday celebration is being planned for Frimley Park on Sunday 18th November.

This year’s Rose Sunday celebrations will include the official opening of the new pavilion. The original pagoda was removed to allow new stormwater pipes to be laid and the Hastings Rose Society funded a replacement which has been modelled on a traditional park rotunda. The reconstruction project also included the replanting of a number of rose beds and the formation of a new path through the centre of the gardens.

The gardens will look a picture with over 5,000 roses on display and industry professionals will be on hand to give advice on how to look after your roses.

Deputy Mayor Cynthia Bowers says “The new pavilion is a great asset for the community. It has been designed to complement the style of the gardens and will add enormous value to Frimley Park. The gardens will continue to be a wonderful place to visit for residents and visitors alike.”

You are invited to bring a picnic and relax on the lawn while listening to music from the Twin City Stompers jazz band.

The kids will be entertained with a bouncy castle and face painting while the adults can wander around the gardens and enjoy the tranquillity of the park.
