Canterbury Japan Day 2012

Canterbury Japan Day 2012 will be held on Sunday, 11 March at Riccarton Park (Event Centre).

Canterbury Japan Day will follow the format of the popular Auckland Japan Day festival.

Canterbury Japan Day will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Japanese Society of Canterbury and recognise the great loss of life and extensive damage caused by the Christchurch and East Japan Earthquakes. It will also recognise the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between New Zealand and Japan.

We hope this Canterbury Japan Day festival will contribute to the recovery from both these disasters by bringing local expat Japanese and Christchurch residents who love Japanese culture together in a positive spirit of mutual support as they move forward in their lives.
