Return to Paradise Resort was nominated for a record five awards at the Samoan National Tourism Awards last month, with the Resort taking out two awards, including Best Shuttle Service and Best Uniforms. Return to Paradise was also a top three finalist in the  Supreme Tourism Award category.

This has been a great year for us and reflects the hard work of our family of staff, “ says Resort General Manager, Ramona Su’aPale. “We are the only large resort in Samoa that is actually owned and operated by Samoans, so it is very encouraging to see our resort holding its own against international brands. When we opened in 2014, we initially faced quite a lot of prejudice with many critics saying that a local operated resort could not deliver international service standards, so we are proud to have proven ourselves.

Return to Paradise has won several other awards over the last year, including the Prime Minister’s Cup for Best Dish in the Culinary Awards. In the Prestigious National Fireknife Dance Competitions, Return to Paradise staff won Junior Champion, Pairs Routine Champions, and First and Second Senior Champions; in other words, a clean sweep.

The Maeva String Band which is made up of the Resort gardeners, performs in the Resort’s restaurant every Saturday night, and they recently won the National String Band Championship. House of Travel Managing Director, Chris Paulsen saw the Maeva Band Saturday Night Show and was very impressed; “This was the best cultural entertainment I have seen in 40 years in the Pacific Travel Industry. They are amazing.
