Overdue Tramper

A 66 year old Wellington man Howard EASTMENT and a female associate have been reported as overdue after a gold prospecting trip into the Rocky River area in Bainham, Collingwood, Golden Bay.

The man went into the area on the 31st of December and was due out last week. He had about fours days' worth of food on the 11th of January.

He was spoken to by another tramper on the 14th of January.

He has not been seen or heard of since that day.

Police would like to speak to any one who was in the Rocky River area of Bainham since last week. If any one can assist they are asked to contact their nearest Police Station.

A Search and Rescue Operation is been mounted to locate Mr EASTMEN, the Nelson Rescue helicopter is been deployed as well as search team from the Golden Bay Land SAR volunteers.
