Two weeks since woman's disappearance

It will be two weeks tomorrow (21 November) since 51-year-old Michelle Hoffman-Tamm disappeared and police are continuing to work with determination to bring answers to family and friends.

Michelle left her Phillip Street home in Rotorua on her red bike and was believed to be going to visit friends a few blocks away, but never arrived.

Although there have been possible sightings in the Glenholme and Ngongotaha areas of Rotorua on and around the 7th when she went missing, Police are yet to confirm these sightings.

Detective Senior Sergeant Zane Smith said: "This is still a missing person inquiry and we haven't given up hope that there is a plausible explanation for Michelle's disappearance but each day that passes with no news increases our concern for her safety. We certainly cannot rule out that something more untoward has happened to her. We have conducted a number of searches, numerous enquiries and have had officers going door-to-door and that work that is continuing. Michelle's family and friends have also been supporting the police by spreading the word and circulating flyers around Rotorua."

Michelle is described as a female European, approximately 5 foot tall, of medium build.  She currently has short dark hair. Her red mountain style bike remains outstanding.

"I appeal to anyone with the slightest piece of information to contact us. It doesn't matter how irrelevant the information may seem; let us judge its relevance," said Detective Senior Sergeant Smith.
