SIDART hosts the best of the Test Kitchen

Adventurous diners across Auckland are talking up a storm about the Test Kitchen concept at SIDART.

The concept is simple. On being seated, diners are given the option between eight or ten courses. What ingredients, techniques or flavour combinations will be used is the enticing mystery.

Since starting the Test Kitchen concept in November 2012, the talented team at SIDART has created more than 44 menus, with around 320-odd dishes developed over the course of the year.

And this December they’re offering the best of the Test Kitchen showcasing the team’s eight favourite dishes from the year throughout the festive month.

It gives diners who may have missed out the opportunity to try the popular dining concept – or return because they simply can’t stay away.

A top pick is “watermelon, buttermilk, tomato and olives” – one of the first ever dishes created when SIDART gave up its á la carte menu

Award-winning chef Sahrawat adds edginess, adventure and a little anticipation to the week with his Test Kitchen concept, which showcases the freshest seasonal ingredients, new food techniques and flavour combinations.

Although the food is Sahrawat’s point of passion, his reputation for creativity in how it is presented and served speaks a lot about the attention to detail provided by all the SIDART staff who are renowned for their helpful, friendly service.

“It means a lot to us as it really gets the entire crew deeply involved with every aspect of dining,” says Sid when asked how the team picked the final menu. “However, I can say we do keep in mind what the guests have most enjoyed most.”

Sahrawat is a multi-award winning chef including such titles as ‘Most Innovative Chef’ and ‘Outstanding Chef’ at the Lewisham awards. SIDART has also won ‘Best New Restaurant’ and ‘Best Dish’ in Metro Audi Restaurant of the Year Awards.
