HUNTLY

A concerned member of public phoned the Police Northern Communication Centre at 3.10pm today, 23/11/2007, to report a vehicle driving erratically on State Highway One travelling South near Huntly.

The member of public followed the vehicle for 5 minutes until it was stopped by a police patrol responding to the reported incident.

When stopped the 45yr female driver returned a breath test that was close to over 3 times the legal limit. Also in the vehicle with her were her 9 and 5yr old children as well as her 4 month old grandchild.

Police appreciate the actions of the member of public in bringing this appalling behaviour to their attention.

The woman, who admitted to consuming a large volume of hard alcohol, will be appearing in the Huntly District Court in early December.
