Scarbro Caro Bowl Finals

The Parnell Tennis Club regained the Scarbro Caro Bowl Men's title with a win over Blockhouse Bay in the competition final on Friday night.  The opening doubles were shared but Parnell gained the upper hand in these by winning a set in the top doubles.  Alistair Hunt and Steven Downs both won the opening singles matches against Justin Megraw and Jackson Bodle respective to give Parnell an insurmountable lead.


The Scarbro Caro Bowl Women's final between Royal Oak and Sunnyhills was played indoors at the Scarbro Tennis Centre.  The opening doubles matches were shared with Sunnyhills winning the top match and Royal Oak claiming the bottom doubles.  Emma Hayman defeated CT Ampornachariya in straight sets and Nicola Kaiwai downed Kelly Drew to give Royal Oak a 3-1 advantage.  Claudia Williams sealed the contest with a   7-5 6-2 win against Annabel Ellis.


This is the first win for Royal Oak after numerous second place finishes in recent years while it was the first appearance ever in this competition for the Sunnyhills Tennis Club.
