SAR rescue boat blown out to sea
At about 11.37am on 25/11/07 Police were advised of a boat in difficulty near Motunau, North Canterbury.
There were strong winds and indications were it was taking on water. Information was sketchy but Canterbury coastguard, Sumner and Ashley lifeboats were activated along with the Westpac helicopter.
The vessel was found to have beached without incident near Motunau and the occupants were awaiting their boat trailer to arrive.
