Police confirm female found dead in Papakura as Alicia McClallion

Police have identified the 23 year female who was found dead yesterday at 7.30am by a family member as Alicia McCallion. Alicia was discovered in a sleep out attached to the family home.

Detective Inspector Mark Gutry says,” Police can confirm that the death is a homicide.

“The female has sustained injuries that are likely to have been caused by a sharp weapon which has not been located.

"The female was last seen by members of her family around 8.30pm on Tuesday 11 December. Today we’re continuing with our scene examination and area canvas talking to neighbours.

“We would encourage anyone living in the area to check their homes for any unusual items or property that maybe found and contact Counties Manukau Police urgently if anything is located.”

There is a team of 25 Police Officers working on this investigation. The post-mortem is currently being conducted.

Police urge members of the public to call 09 261 1300 if they saw or heard anything in relation to this incident. Police are especially interested in any activity in the vicinity of Cotton Road, Papakura between 20.00hrs Tuesday 11 December and 08.00hrs on Wednesday 12 December.
