Quickflix today announced that it has entered into an agreement with Kobo to distribute the Quickflix streaming service through connected Kobo eReaders and new generation devices. Launching in the first quarter of 2013, selected new Kobo eReaders will come pre-loaded with Quickflix allowing unlimited subscription streaming of movies and TV as well as pay per view latest releases. The partnership between Kobo and Quickflix covers both New Zealand and Australia.

In a statement, Quickflix NZ Managing Director Paddy Buckley said ‘‘We are really excited to be extending our streaming services to the groundbreaking Kobo eReader. Our aim is to deliver great value entertainment to Kiwis on their device of choice and this marks another milestone for us and will further increase the distribution of our service. eReaders are increasingly popular and Kobo are at the top of their game, so this is a significant development which will give our customers even more ways to view their favourite movies and TV shows whenever they want and wherever they are.’’
