Ohau - Overdue Trampers

Twizel police are current undertaking a SAR at the South Temple, Ohau for a 40yr old male and his 37yr old female partner who are four days over due from a tramp.    The pair were reported over due yesterday by a relative and their vehicle was located in the South Temple car park by police yesterday afternoon.

Police are  sending a helicopter into the area to attempt to locate and extract the pair.

Police do not have any immediate concerns for thier safety but the river level is extremely high and will remain so for a few days and the pair would be unable to walk out thmselves.
