At about 9.45am today there was a single vehicle crash on Tainui Rd., Tauhei, Waikato.
The vehicle has left the road on a bend, crashed through a fence and rolled in a paddock.
The 45year old male driver has died at the scene.
He was a local Waikato man driving on local rural roads that he regularly used.
Excessive speed is clearly a factor in this crash.
Senior Sergeant Rupert Friend of Huntly Police said "We remind motorists that rural people die on rural roads, and even though they are local they need to treat roads with respect and slow down"
The mans name will not be released until next of kin have had the opportunity to notify their wider family.
