The Hutt City Council's popular older adult exercise classes are back for another year.

Recreation and events manager, Duncan Chisholm says “a regular exercise programme can help protect older people from common injuries and the exercises are really simple and effective – anybody can do them.”

“Besides all the health benefits, the classes are also a bit of fun,” he said.

Four classes are being held at the Moera Community Hall and the Horticultural Hall supper room during Term 1 (4 February to 19 April) and are run by qualified and experienced instructors.

Class schedule

Zumba Gold Toning classes run for 45 minutes from 10.45am – 11.30am Mondays, 4 February to 15 April in the Horticultural Hall supper room.

Stretch + Flex classes run for one hour from 11.40am – 12.40pm Mondays, 4 February to 15 April in the Horticultural Hall supper room.

Pilates Gold classes run for one hour from 10am – 11am Thursdays, 7 February to 18 April in the Moera Community Hall.

Zumba Gold classes run for 45 minutes from 9.30am – 10.15am Fridays, 8 February to 19 April in the Moera Community Hall.

All classes cost $50 for 10 trip card (which can be used at any class) or $7 per class (casual).  Bookings are not required. Participants are encouraged to bring a water bottle and towel or mat (for Pilates).
