Flail Mowing at Herekawe Walkway

Walkers on New Plymouth’s Herekawe Walkway will be seeing a large mower in action from Thursday next week.

A flail mower will be used to cut through dense vegetation on both sides of the walkway, which connects Spotswood with Back Beach.

“There’ve been great growing conditions in the last few weeks and the vegetation has taken off, so we’re getting in there to open up the walkway again,” says District Arborist Conrad Pattison.

The mowing will take a week to complete, although no mowing will be done during the weekend. The walkway will remain open but the public are advised to take note of the warning signs in place.
