Invercargill - Arson Arrest

INVERCARGILL

Police investigating the Arson of a classroom block under renovation at James Hargest High School in the early hours of Thursday 3 January 2013 have today arrested two local males aged 18 and 19 years of age.

Both men will appear in the Invercargill District Court this afternoon facing Arson and burglary charges relating to the arson which preliminary estimates put the damage at $700 000.00.

The men will also face furthers charges of Arson and Burglary relating to an earlier incident at the school in the early hours of Sunday the 7th October last year where some out building at the school were entered and wooden picnic tables were set alight in a quadrangle area.

Police would like to thank members of the public for there assistances in helping to bring the investigation to an early resolution.
