Wairoa District Council is pleased to announce the appointment of Jamie Cox to the role of Engineering Manager.

Already employed by WDC as Special Projects Engineer, Mr Cox brings many years of experience and knowledge to this challenging job.

“This is a broad role that encompasses many aspects of the district’s services and infrastructure. I’m looking forward to the challenge of bringing it all together,” he said.

“As the district is moving into a period of change, with local government and roading reforms, there is a responsibility to ensure Wairoa’s position remains strong for the future. Having grown up here and worked here, I understand this responsibility and am honoured to take it on,” he said.

Council is in the blood for Mr Cox, whose Great-Great Grandfather, George Bee, was County Chairman in 1892. His father, Mike Cox, headed up the engineering department for many years until his retirement in the early 1990s.

Mr Cox replaces Neil Cook, who has taken up a new position in Fiji.
