Local kids aged 7 to 15 years have less than two weeks left to register for the Sanitarium Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon event in St Heliers to take place on 24 February at Vellenoweth Green.

Participants will have the opportunity to meet sporting celebrities including Sophie Pascoe and Maddie Dillon who will be attending the Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon event.

Pierre van Heerden, General Manager for Sanitarium Health & Wellbeing Company says all kids from Auckland should register now to take part:

“The Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon is suitable for children of all levels of sporting ability as it focuses on encouraging kids to participate and achieving a personal best” says Mr van Heerden.

Each TRYathlon event is made up of three sections, including a swimming, running and cycling leg. Kids can enter the Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon as individuals, or in a team of two or three.

Entry numbers for the St Heliers Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon will be limited, so schools and individuals who want to be involved should get in quick to secure their place.

Every child who participates receives a race pack, a race T-shirt, a swim cap for all swimmers, a certificate and a medal.

To ensure even more Kiwi Kids can take part in the Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon and Go for Gold, Weet-Bix has set up the Weet-Bix TRYathlon Foundation. Teachers and community leaders can apply for support from the Foundation on behalf of a child between the ages of 7 to 15.

The Weet-Bix TRYathlon Foundation provides worthy nominees with a subsidy or complete funding of Weet-Bix Kids TRYathlon entry fees, as well as a subsidy or complete funding of necessary equipment to complete the event.

Registrations for this event and nominations for Weet-Bix Foundation can be completed online at http://tryathlon.weetbix.co.nz/  or phone 09 531 5080.  The deadline for registrations is 20 February, at 11:59pm.
