Fair Trade Community and Wellingtonians

From 4 - 19 May 2013 Fair Trade City Wellington will celebrate Fair Trade Fortnight 2013. This is our key annual event where Fair Trade communities, schools, workplaces, businesses and religious groups show their support by buying Fair Trade and promoting a fairer life for farmers in developing countries.

What will happen
On Saturday 11 May 2013 we will celebrate “The World Fair Trade Day” by hosting a “Celebrity Cooking Competition” at Le Cordon Bleu Institute.

Mayor Celia Wade-Brown and Steve Logan (Chef and owner of Logan Brown Restaurant) will compete against Grant Robertson (MP for Wellington Central) and Sarah Bradley (TVNZ personality and editor of “Escapes Me” magazine) by creating the most original recipe using Fair Trade ingredients (chocolate, bananas, sugar, cocoa, coffee, tea and other ingredients).

All Wellingtonians are invited to be part of the audience and enjoy what will be a wonderful event.
