Vikram Jayaprakash, - Colchicine, a highly poisonous alkaloid, is a commonly used treatment for gout, Beçhet’s disease, and familial Mediterranean fever. Despite the knowledge of its side effects, the near universally fatal consequence of a significant overdose is commonly under-appreciated.
