Rain! It's here Taranaki!
It was short but it made a 'major' impact on Taranaki farmers, for the first time since the start of 2013 Taranaki saw its first 'good ammount' of rain but that is all that is expected for much of the week ahead.
"It is really starting to hurt people" a farmer told infonews.co.nz.
Meanwhile "A massive storm has rolled over Taranaki, it's amazing" A farmer told infonews.co.nz jumping up in the air at around 8pm.
NZ Depression told infonews.co.nz that there was a large risk of suicide due to the hot weather.
We spoke with them when it was 'pouring down' with rain, they were pleased it had started raining.
infonews.co.nz was advised that it was raining threw out Taranaki but now 'its back to blue skies which is a shame'
SpeedwayNZ told infonews.co.nz "When it started raining we were nearly going to call it off, but it got much better fast so its all go here."
All this happens just as New Plymouth was named the country's best-performing city, and Taranaki the second-best performing region, as rural New Zealand surges in importance to the national economy.
