Camille Buscomb, New Zealand’s leading female middle-distance athlete, makes The Terraces At Ocean Beach in Mount Maunganui her preferred place to stay when she takes some time away from the track.

Hamilton-based Buscomb enjoys chilling out with friends and family at The Terraces where she says the family-style apartments are ideal for groups or families.

Buscomb, 22, is making a big impression on the athletics track and is already targeting next year’s Commonwealth Games as her primary mission.

“I have to qualify for the Commonwealth Games and I’m confident that I can do so,” Camille says.

She is the champion 3000m title holder in New Zealand and is second currently over 1500 metres.

“The 1500m is my major discipline and ultimately that is the event which I most want to excel in.”

“I train full time and my goal is to compete in the Commonwealth Games next year and then on to the Olympics in Rio de Janeiro in 2016,” Camille said.

She says she is going to go hard out for the Commonwealth and Olympic Games.

That has meant stepping up her training programme every day. She trains at the track, swims and works out regularly at the gym.

She is also hoping to gain some increased sponsorship in order to pursue these goals.

“I have improved a huge amount over the last few years and it would be wonderful to have more support from the community,” Camille said.
