Armed police call out in New Plymouth

DEVELOPING NEWS: Two boys playing with a BB gun in a New Plymouth suburb have sparked an armed police callout this afternoon.

Four armed police arrived at a Merrilands property this afternoon, after receiving a report the boys shot a bullet at a bypassing car.

No one was injuried and we can't confirm of damage however the BB gun has been destroyed.

DANGEROUS WEAPON

It isnt the first time incidents like this have occured however people have died. 

Over 13 people have died this year using the BB Gun which anybody can buy without ID, yet the gun is R16.

"Parents are at fault here, little boys shouldnt have it" one resident told infonews.co.nz
