The Climate change conference which begins today in Bali is set to release an estimated 47,000 tonnes of Carbon Dioxide into the environment over the 12 day event. As a trade off ministers will be asked to ride around the Island resort on one of the 200 bicycles being provided by organisers.

The 47, 000 tones of green house gases are made up of individual flights to and from the Island resort and electricity usage. Delegates from over 190 countries along with an estimated entourage of people including press, bureaucrats and activists are expected to descend on the Island today

The conference will try and set an international framework in place and undertake action after 2012 when the current Kyoto protocol ends.

You can keep track of what is happening at the conference via a special Youtube site
